We wanted to do something unusual and inspiring when in Bali. To step out of our comfort zone, but combining it with our love for food. Our search eventually led us to @balisilentretreat, an hour’s drive from Ubud. This eco sanctuary stands for restful contemplation and nourishing, organic food.
Firstly, what do you do at Bali Silent Retreat? Joining a yoga or meditation class in complete silence, wandering through the jungle, the beautiful garden or the stunning ricefields, enjoying the spectacular view or visiting the nearby hot springs. Just create your own schedule. We were also fortunate to attend a Balinese full moon gathering, which was extraordinary! But above things; EAT! Three times a day, the team treats you to a mindblowing vegetarian buffet. Most of the products are homegrown and everything is freshly made everyday.
Enjoying your meal in silence will make you taste and appreciate all the fresh ingredients and spices even more. We’ve tried lots of new things, but also didn’t know fresh peanut butter could be that good. Bali Silent Retreat really surprised us!
When you’re looking for something extraordinary to do in Bali (whether it’s for just one night or a longer stay), we really recommend @balisilentretreat. Unwind, relax and enjoy the best food!
Since phones were not allowed during meals, we unfortunately can’t share pictures of wonderful plates. You’ll just have to trust us! If you’re looking for the absolut best and most special places to eat in Bali, follow us on instagram. Check out our other articles on the best food in Bali!
