Uluwatu combines some of Bali’s most beautiful beaches with a food scene that has grown far beyond the typical post-surf café. Around Pecatu, Bingin and Padang Padang, we found everything from plant-based kitchens and specialty coffee to handmade dumplings, tropical garden dinners and sunset drinks high above the ocean. These are the places that stood out most during our time in Uluwatu.
Best Restaurants in Uluwatu
Laggas
Laggas brings together flavours from across Asia, with dumplings, noodles and other dishes designed for sharing at the centre of the menu. The handmade dumplings were the main reason we came and definitely lived up to expectations. We went for the tasting selection, which is a great way to try several varieties both steamed and fried. A casual restaurant, but one with much more attention to the food than the laid-back setting might suggest.
Ulu Garden
Ulu Garden is built around a lush tropical garden that makes it particularly nice once the evening starts to cool down. The menu has plenty of vegetable-led options alongside curries and other comforting dishes, while live music and performances regularly add to the atmosphere. We liked that it feels like much more than somewhere to simply sit down for dinner — exactly the kind of relaxed, open-air place that suits Uluwatu.

Alchemy
Alchemy is one of Bali’s best-known plant-based concepts and its Uluwatu location feels perfectly at home here. The menu is completely plant-based and puts fresh, nourishing ingredients at the centre, with many dishes served raw or only gently cooked. We loved the creativity and freshness of the food, but also the beautiful open space and community feel around it. An easy choice for a long breakfast or lunch.
Tarabelle
Tarabelle is an all-day café that works just as well for breakfast as it does for an easy lunch. We particularly loved their Balinese take on eggs Benedict, together with the fresh smoothies — and it is difficult to leave without trying one of the donuts too. The comfortable, relaxed setting makes it the kind of place you can easily return to several times during a stay in Uluwatu.
Suka
Suka Espresso has been part of Uluwatu’s café scene for years and remains one of the area’s popular all-day addresses. Specialty coffee sits alongside an Australian-style brunch menu with salads, sandwiches and plenty of substantial breakfast options. Its location around Labuansait also makes it a convenient stop before or after heading towards the beaches. Busy for a reason, and still a useful address to have saved.
Single Fin
Few places are as closely associated with Uluwatu sunsets as Single Fin. Perched on the cliffs above the famous surf break, it is the kind of place you visit as much for the view and atmosphere as for what is on the table. We would particularly save this one for a drink around sunset, when the ocean becomes the backdrop and the atmosphere starts to build. Sundays are especially lively if you want to stay well beyond sunset.
