Fort Negen
@fort.negen makes the most amazing sourdough bread (which we also took with us at the Saturday @hermitagemarket) and delicious pastries. We loved the cheese and wild garlic croissant!
Saint Jean
@saintjean.nl is a plant-based bakery with many changing specials. And the pastries are SO good! Loved the pistachio one. Come early since they sell out fast, definitely one of the best pastry in Amsterdam!
Margo’s
Another good plant-based bakery is @margosamsterdam! Here we’ve had the best vegan cheese croissant ever and for a very reasonable price. Loved the neighbourhood vibe at this bakery!
Grammes
At @grammes_ams it’s always crowded and rightfully so; they make outstanding and unique pastries! What we would give to have this bakery around the corner… Get yourself the pistachio escargot; you won’t be disappointed!
Salvo
If you want to taste true Italian passion you’re in the right place at @salvobakehouse. Their maritozzi is a-ma-zing and how they manage to come up with new original flavors is admirable.
Anook
@anookbakehouse is sure to surprise you with their sweet as well as their savoury pastries. Their donuts are incredible and we loved their cheese & mustard bun.
Et Claire
@et_claire_ is a chic viennoiserie with delicious pastry – try their signature ‘cube croissant’ or the kimchie croissant, we loved it! The only place where you can add champagne to your pastry moment.
Public space
At @publicspace_ we’ve had one of the best cinnamon pastries EVER! Crispy, warm, lots of cinnamon and just sweet enough. Definitely try it out!

Bar Bouche
@barboucheamsterdam is located in the East of Amsterdam and is a restaurant full of love and passion for good food. Go here for a next level lunch or dinner for a very reasonable price! The menu is small and changes often, so there’s always a reason to go again.
Fabus
@fabus_amsterdam; our newest discovery in Amsterdam West! This cozy restaurant has everything we love; natural wines, a blend of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes and such a good vibe. The menu is sure to make everyone happy and is SO delicious. Can’t go wrong with their dips; we loved the labneh and red pepper mutabbal with sourdough bread from @fort.negen!
Scala
If you’re looking for something really special, treat yourself to food and theater at @scala.amsterdam! It combines small-scale theater and very good food for a crazy evening! Beginning actors get the chance to show their talents to a small audience. The intimate setting (around 10 people per performance) makes it feel very personal and special. In between the short performances you eat delicious food in the cozy restaurant. Also a plus; they have lots of vegetarian options.
Ikaria
@ikariafood, how this place has surprised us is incredible. If you ask us, the lovely owners really created something unique and inspiring with Ikaria. Ikaria stands for good quality, original Greek dishes and truly amazing, carefully selected Greek wines. The location, in the middle of #bilderdijkpark, is cosy and atmospheric. The menu offers lots of vegetarian options as well as meat and fish.
Yerba
Plant-based, creative and seasonal dining at this absolute gem in Amsterdam; @yerbarestaurant! Inspired by their cookbook ‘Smaak’, which we LOVE, we had to go here! We had an amazing 5-course menu, available as vegan or omnivore (they also serve some options with meat or fish). This was definitely food at star level, but for an affordable price!

Uncommon
For a special and healthy lunch we really recommend @uncommonams. A specialty coffee roastery that manages to also make the most creative plant-based lunch dishes.! We’ve tried multiple toasts and they are all delicious. Generously topped with for example mushrooms, parsnip, asparagus, braised leeks and other greens.
Zero Zero
If you’re looking for a more quick but generous lunch, you should visit @zero.zero.store. This place has two locations and makes the best focaccia sandwiches in Amsterdam! And enough vegetarian options – the melanzane is very popular. There’s always a line but it’s definitely worth the wait.
Factory Girl
When we were looking for special lunches in Berlin for our next trip, we came across an amazing place that also seems to have a branch in Amsterdam. Sofia, founder of @factorygirlrestaurants, takes vegetarian (all day) breakfast and lunch to a whole new level! Be sure to finish with the famous ‘Coco Anjéla’, a homemade vegan dessert where you know right from the first bite that you are going to come back for it…
Florentin
We’ve got an amazing recommendation for you in De Pijp; @florentin.brunch! Their inspiring menu combines the owner’s roots from Colombia and Israel. It is truly suitable for everyone, with having lots of vegetarian and vegan dishes to choose from. Although we are used to making shakshuka at home, at Florentin they manage to bring you something new. We choose the ‘Florentin’ shakshuka, with creamy leek, spinach and goats cheese. It comes with the most delicious home made challa bread.
Bakers and Roasters
Definitely go for a lunch at the cozy @bakersandroasters. This cafe with a New Zealand and Brazilian touch has two locations (De Pijp and Kadijken) and serves great lunch dishes and only homemade baked goods. They work with ethically grown, sustainable, organic, seasonal products and local suppliers. And the portions are very generous!
