London; a city in which every aspect of food and many cultures are respresented. The best pastry, Indian restaurants, Ottolenghi, famous coffeespots and all areas have their own character. This city was on our list for a long time and we’ve selected the best food tips for your visit!
Arome Bakery
@aromebakerylondon | Covent Garden; definitely on top of this list! This is a bakery where there’s always a queue but it’s totally worth it. Pastry with an Asian twist (read: precision and exceptional flavours). Their signature pastry is the honey butter toast.
Buns from home
@bunsfromhome | Mayfair (and other areas); ones started making amazingly delicious buns at home and made it to several branches throughout London. They make a weekend special very often; we’ve had an amazing one with cookies, cream and campari.
Rosslyn
@rosslyncoffee | City of London; Rosslyn decided to, besides making amazing coffee, create the best coffee soft serve there is. We’ve had it for breakfast, cause why not!
Jolene
@jolene_newingtongreen | Shoreditch; a must go for crunchy, perfect puff pastry. Go here for the most perfect strawberry Danish
Comptoir
@comptoirg | Borough Market (and other branches); makes the biggest lemon brioche bun we’ve ever seen! Get yours at the Borough Market or in one of their other stores.
Ottolenghi
@ottolenghi_restaurants | Notting Hill; coming here felt like a dream! We bake from the cookbook ‘Sweet’ a lot at home. Coming in this store and seeing literally everything from the book was so special. Couldn’t really choose but went for the guava strawberry cheesecake, loved it!
Layla
@layla_w10 | Notting Hill; a cozy neighbourhood bakery with little pastry works of art. Speaking of art – visit Banksy’s ‘The Painter’ while you’re there (it’s right on the corner!).
Miel
@mielbakery | Fitzrovia; not cheap but the canelé is sooo worth it. It’s one of the best we’ve ever had.
Pavilion
@pavilion_bakery | Hackney; a bakery making delicious fresh bread and different kinds of pastry. Our tip; the turmeric brioche bun!
Little Bread Pedlar
@lbpedlar | South Bank; a cute store with a vintage kind of vibe. If you’re in for some savoury pastry this is a good one. We’ve had a potato & pesto puff pastry

⋆ Mediterranean @nopi_restaurant by @ottolenghi, one of the restaurants on our bucketlist and a MUST GO when in London! Fancy comfort food is how we would describe the menu, with lots of options for vegetarians. Absolute highlights: the savoury beetroot cheesecake and the char siu cauliflower.
⋆ Mexican We can honestly say Zapote (@zapoteshoreditch) is one of the best restaurants we’ve ever been. Zapote is challenging the many Mexican restaurants we’ve visited in Mexico, the quality and creativity of the dishes is insane! A sophisticated, small menu with dishes to share (lots of vegetarian options). They also offer a bar menu for if you just want to go for a small bite! Our favourites; the eggplant with wild mushroom mole and the roasted red pepper taco. Even the desserts are brilliant; would you just look at this little chocolate mousse cactus!
⋆ Indian Dishoom (@dishoom) has become a chain in London, but it is sooo good! This very affordable Indian restaurant makes everything fresh and also serves Indian breakfast. There’s a seperate section for vegan dishes on the menu. You can’t make a reservation at Dishoom, so be early if you want a spot. If you don’t mind waiting a bit we suggest you to queu up for dinner, in general it doesn’t take too long.
⋆ Vegan Alter (@alter_ldn, located within the Leman Locke Hotel) goes straight on our list of best vegan restaurants ever! In our opinion, Alter has managed to redefine plant-based cuisine, proving that eating plant-based doesn’t mean compromising on taste or indulgence. Don’t skip their signature pizza dough with white garlic, mmm!
