During our entire trip in Bali, we definitely visited the best restaurants in Canggu! We really recommend these four magical places. We’re also sharing our tips for great cafes, the best breakfast Canggu, pastry, coffee and lunch. Nice to know is that Canggu has a lot of remote workers, which also gives a very good vibe in eateries and Canggu in general.
Canggu is full of innovative concepts, good views and cozy little cafes! There are so many eateries in Canggu, but with this list, you’re sure to hit a lot of diverse and unique foodspots.
Good Mantra
@goodmantrabali is plant based and has a very creative menu and (small) plates. The buffalo broccoli wings and edamame hummus were amazing!
Baked
We mentioned @baked.indonesia in our previous post for pastry, but lunch doesn’t fall short either. Very good, fresh bagels (loved the one with smoked cod!).
Crate Cafe
@cratecafe is immensely popular and rightfully so; this place sells all those colorful dishes you see on instagram. Would you just look at this chia pudding with frozen kiwi!
La Brisa
@labrisabali is a beachclub with a very laid back vibe; we enjoyed an afternoon at the waterfront at La Brisa and loved the fresh nachos with hummus. There’s also a fresh market on Sundays!
Honey
As the name suggests, at @honeykitchenbali, honey is the star on the menu! We had the most delicious toast with ricotta, grilled peaches and, ofcourse, honey. They also have other specialties, like espresso ice cubes – super cool!
Tribal
@tribal_bali is a place to work, rest, play and EAT! This hidden gem is a very peaceful place in busy Canggu. Many people are remote working here, but Tribal is also worth visiting for a healthy lunch!
At Front
@atfrontcafe is a great spot for brunch and has lots of dishes to choose from. Our personal favorite; the açaí smoothiebowl – made with fresh açaí.
Cafe Vida
@cafe_vida_bali is an organic cafe with artistic smoothiebowls and all kinds of lunch dishes – some options for fish and meat as well. Also good home brewed kefir and kombuchas!
Other tips; @blacksandbrewery for good beers (unique in Bali!) and @gayagelato (with a branch in Canggu) for ice cream.

Santa Nera
@santanerabali is a fine dining restaurant located in a beautiful building. You almost can’t believe you’re in Bali when you walk in. The creative dishes are perfect for shared dining and are very reasonably priced. Don’t miss this one for a romantic dinner!
Mosto
Didn’t think we would be able to find good natural wines in Bali, but we did @mostobali is Indonesia’s first natural wine bar where you can enjoy Balinese as well as foreign natural wines. Their food menu should also be mentioned, the Mediterranean inspired dishes fit perfectly! Especially loved the ‘mosto classic’; gnocchi with roasted garlic butter.
Samesa
@samesa.bali is a true experience you don’t want to miss! This Italian restaurant has just one communal table and that’s exactly the owner’s purpose – bringing strangers together to enjoy an overload of festive Italian food! Make sure you come with enough appetite and make yourself up for a night of great conversations, meeting new people, laughing, unlimited homemade limoncello and enjoying life in the moment!
Shelter
@shelter.pererenan is located in a super cozy, atmospheric garden. They serve contemporary Middle-Eastern and Mediterranean dishes, but you can also come in for a drink. The menu offers enough vegetarian options, like the stracciatella fennel with burnt orange. And don’t skip the warm za’atar pretzel as a starter, sooo good!

Braud
Found @braud.artisanbakery by coincidence while walking to another foodspot; the display case caught our attention right away! Don’t miss this one. The fresh croissants and the sourdough bread is truly amazing.
Mannaka
@mannaka.bali is located in Seminyak but close to Canggu. This cute little joint is a coffee & matcha bar and also sells delicious Japanese sandwiches. Very good quality!
Baked
We’ve had the best cruffin at @baked.indonesia! This busy place sells all kinds of pastry and very good coffee. They’re also opening a location in Seminyak as of 2023.
How I met coffee
@howimetcoffeebali is a specialty coffee shop in Seminyak and is somewhat hidden; there’s a nice and calm atmosphere and the cold drip is to die for!
Mustache coffee
@mustache_coffee_bali is open every day and also has vegan options like almond or soy milk.
Machinery
@machinerycafe is a fun coffee shop using coffee beans roasted in Bali by @huluroasters. Loved the interior details, like the gasoline pump as door handle!
Made’s banana flour
@madesbananaflourco is the first banana flour bakery in the world, so we had to visit! We had a croissant (very filling, sharing one together is enough!) and bought pancake mix for at home.
At Front
@atfrontcafe is another lovely coffee spot in Canggu! They’re also into art, which can be admired in the cafe. Definitely one of the best coffee in Canggu!
