During our short visit to Helsinki, we luckely found enough time to look for the best coffee in Helsinki and where to eat the real Scandinavian pastries.
Helsinki Homemade
For the traditional ‘Laskiaispulla’, a sweet bun filled with fresh almondpaste and whipped cream, you should go to @helsinkihomemade. This cute little shop bakes them fresh during the whole day. Ours were actually made right on the spot! They seem real heavy but are actually very light and fluffy. So good, definitely one of the best pastry in Helsinki!
Way Bakery
Another very good spot to get nice Finnish pastries is @way_bakery! This neighborhood café serves the best runebergintorttu (pastry with almonds and rum or arrack). Very good croissants & coffees as well.
Cafe Regatta
Treat yourself to a (vegan) hot chocolate at @caferegatta. This cute red house is located near the water and only has outside places. Because of the cold they make a campfire, on which you can also toast some marshmallows. You shouldn’t miss this one for that cozy winter feeling.
Kaffa Roastery
@kaffaroastery is a specialty coffeebar ánd roastery and is a super cute place to sit.
Highlight Kahvila
Enjoy a cup of coffee at @highlight.kahvila where you can sit right by the window. Also if you’re into salmon toast, this is a good place!
Bruket Cafe
@bruketcafe is a place where you can go any moment of the day. For good coffees and pastries, but they also serve a very good lunch. Check for yourself on their page!
We combined our trip to Helsinki with a trip to Tallinn (by boat), we absolutely recommend it! Check out our food tips on Tallinn here.
