Wineries and food Constantia
Spending a few days in Constantia, the oldest wine region in South Africa, is truly amazing. It’s a half-hour drive from Cape Town, and a place we totally fell in love with. Very good wines & unbelievable views – these are the spots we’ve visited and really recommend!
Buitenverwachting
⋆ @buitenverwachtingwinetasting; a very generous wine tasting and a beautiful garden to have a picnic as well. We recommend you to book in advance, it can be very busy here (escpecially in summertime).
Klein Constantia
⋆ @kleinconstantia; producer of the iconic dessert wine ‘Vin de Constance’ and other cool climate wines. This dessert wine is on the menu of many reputable restaurants, so definitely worth to taste it at the winemaker! Also love the views on the wine production from the tasting room.
Beau
⋆ @beauconstantia; a bit more trendy and an amazing view on the Constantia valley (some people come here especially for the view)! Loved the generous cheese board and the very friendly staff. They also offer the possibility to have a picnic on the green terrace.

Tryn
@steenbergfarm; this winery also has restaurant ‘Tryn’, a fine dining restaurant without fuss in the middle of the vineyard. Loved all the vegetarian options on the menu but also enjoyed the ethical sourced fish & the best scallops we’ve ever tasted. Although it’s a fine dining restaurant, there’s a casual and friendly atmosphere.

Wildsprout
@wildsproutcpt has two branches in Constantia and Kenilworth and serves (very generous) healthy and local food. They also a have a store with delicious meals to go! We also really loved the big shop with groceries for at home (or a picnic!).
Chardonnay Deli
@chardonnay_deli is a culinary deli shop we’re you can get all kinds of home made delicacies but also have breakfast and lunch. Never had a baked apple this way, loved it! They also sell fresh bread, which smells delicious when you enter the store.
Black Box
@blackboxcoffee_ct is the cutest mobile coffee spot on the side of the road, great to combine with a visit to the #tablemountainnationalpark. There’s two really nice guys making the coffee and they also sell some home made cookies to go with it.
