The Laguna Bacalar is a great place to spend time. This beautiful lake has 7 colors, all of which can be easily seen from a sailboat. Unfortunately, not all the food in Bacalar is as nice and diverse as the Laguna Bacalar itself. It is a lot of ‘pasta pizza pasta pizza’ and the quality is often not too good. But if you look a little further, you will find special and delicious spots. Do you want that extra food experience during your stay in Bacalar? Look no further! Mi Burrito
The foodtruck @mi_burrito_bacalar has the most delicious burritos we’ve had this trip. But really delicious. GO HERE, you will be back! You’re sitting outside at a cool food truck and the owners are really nice. They make the most special dressings and sauces to go with your burrito.
Barba Negra
Restaurant @restaurante_barbanegra has a cozy garden where you can enjoy great (fish) tacos and live music. The restaurant has an authentic Mexican feel to it yet has a modern touch.
La Playita
If you want to enjoy a good sunset we recommend @laplayitabacalar. Enjoy it with their famous mango mezcal sweet chili cocktail!
Yerba Buena
One of the spots to go for a healthy meal: @yerbabuenabacalar is a super cute little joint with smoothie bowls and healthy toasts.
Mango y Chile
At @mangoychile you can have a nice lunch and grab one of the many special shakes.
And last but not least;
There are mostly a lot of tourist motorboats cruising the Laguna Bacalar. For a more special and authentic experience we recommend a sailing trip with @veleandoando. Super cool and you also get to know a lot about the lake. We can also recommend @hotelairesbacalar! A beautiful hotel, friendly staff and centrally located.
